The State Forestry Institution "Rossony Forestry" of the Vitebsk State Production Forestry Association was established by the Resolution of the Council of People's Commissars of the BSSR dated July 2, 1936. The forestry includes 11 previously existing forestries with a total area of 120,009 hectares, located on the territory of the former Rossony, Osvey, Drissa and Polotsk districts, namely: Drissa, Osvey, Lisnyanskoye, Yukhovichskoye, Klyastitskoye, Rossony, Zaborskoe, Borkovichskoye, Sokolishenskoye, Rudnyanskoye and Krasnopolskoye forestries.
