Why Rossony District?

Rossony District is located in the north of the Vitebsk region, covering an area of 1926.9 sq. km.

It borders Sebezhsky and Nevelsky districts of the Pskov region of the Russian Federation to the north and east, and Polotsk and Verkhnedvinsk districts of the Vitebsk region to the south and west.

It was established on July 17, 1924.

It includes 126 settlements and 6 rural councils.

The administrative center is the urban settlement of Rossony, located on the northern shore of Lake Rossono, 276 kilometers from Minsk and 150 kilometers from Vitebsk.

The district's agro-industrial complex is represented by the "Klyastitsy-Agro" branch of OJSC "Polotsk Dairy Plant," which specializes mainly in livestock production.

GLHU "Rossony Forestry," which is among the largest forestry enterprises in the Republic of Belarus in terms of the area of forest lands it manages;

UP ZhKH Rossony District, specializing in the production of thermal energy exclusively from local fuels.

Branches of OJSC "Polotsk Dairy Plant" and KUP "Vitebskobldorstroy" operate in the district; production units of OJSC "Novopolotskbyt," RUP "Belpochta," RUP "Vitebskoblgaz," OJSC "Vitebskavtotrans," RUP "Vitebskenergo," GU "State Energy and Gas Supervision," KUP "Vitebskoblvodokanal," RUP "Vitebskavtodor," etc.

The district's trade sector includes 3.5 thousand sq. meters of retail space, 101 retail outlets of various formats, 1 market, and 8 publicly accessible catering establishments with 311 seats (as of January 1, 2025).
