Belarusian bison settle in Russia's Bashkortostan
The delegation, led by Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina, included Vitebsk Mayor Nikolai Orlov, heads of structural divisions of the Regional Executive Committee, enterprises and organizations of the region, and the Vitebsk Regional Union of Employers. The main topic of the working meetings held was increasing the efficiency of using the potential of interregional cooperation between Vitebsk and Smolensk regions.
Traditionally, the visit began with a symbolic event – members of the delegation laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the memorial Square of Memory of Heroes in Smolensk.
During negotiations with the Deputy Governor of Smolensk Region Alexey Streltsov, possible directions for the development of industrial cooperation, participation of Vitebsk organizations in the implementation of infrastructure projects of Smolensk Region, and cooperation on issues of import substitution, logistics, and trade were discussed.
During the meeting between the Vitebsk delegation and Smolensk Mayor Andrey Borisov, the activation of cooperation in the industrial and humanitarian spheres was discussed. In particular, Russians are interested in the experience of Vitebsk region in training skilled workers for the real sector of the economy. In addition, Smolensk partners are ready to more actively use the potential of Vitebsk region for organizing a health campaign for children during the summer period.
The delegation from Vitebsk region also visited the special economic zone "Stabna", familiarized themselves with the specifics of its operation and promising projects planned for implementation at the SEZ sites.
