Diplomat: Belarus-Uzbekistan relations have reached a new level
During the summer season, 716 camps operated in the Vitebsk region, providing health improvement services to over 44,000 children.
The issue of children's health improvement and employment in educational institutions and health resorts of the Vitebsk region was discussed at a session of the regional Council of Deputies.
This issue, as emphasized by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, is under the constant control of all authorities.
The head of the Vitebsk region's deputy corps focused on the tasks to be addressed before the next health improvement campaign. Following an analysis of the camps' performance last season, it became clear that their operating mode needs to be changed to a four- or five-shift system, with increased attention to sports and military-patriotic camps, and rational use of allocated funds for more comfortable and fulfilling rest for children.
The main issue was discussed in this context.
Snezhana Titova, Head of the Representative Office of the Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, emphasized that 1,645 more children received health improvement services in our region during the summer campaign compared to the previous one. A total of 716 camps of all types operated in the region, with approximately 3 million rubles spent on their preparation.
Despite the opening of three additional suburban camps in the Vitebsk region over the past three years, the problem of insufficient places has not been fully resolved. The opening of another suburban stationary health resort camp in the Postavy district on the premises of the Guta basic school is planned for next year.
Only 615 day camps operated on the basis of general education and sports schools in the region, where 26,300 children received health improvement services. In 78 of these camps, 1,440 teenagers were involved in various forms of employment. The children performed work related to landscaping, furniture repair, plant care, sewing of workwear, etc., and received wages for their labor.
Another 95 camps functioned as sports and health resorts, accommodating 8,880 athletes. 128 camps and shifts with round-the-clock and day attendance were established on the basis of military units and formations, where 4,300 teenagers were involved in defense-sports and military-patriotic activities, and 24 specialized shifts of the Ministry of Emergency Situations operated.
Special attention in the camps was paid to the health improvement of children in need of social protection, emphasized Snezhana Titova. Approximately 1700 orphans and children left without parental care, 595 children with disabilities, and 5.5 thousand children from large and low-income families were covered by various forms of health improvement activities. For these categories, 467.3 thousand rubles were allocated from the regional, city, and district budgets to supplement the full cost of vouchers.
The health improvement and employment of adolescents classified as difficult were under special control. More than a thousand adolescents were involved in various forms of health improvement activities and labor activities.
