Family of 14 evacuated from Gaza Strip to Belarus, to stay in Volozhin

The production of two models of Minsk Tractor Works equipment will be relocated to the MTZ-Holding enterprise in Vitebsk.

– The production of the universal BELARUS Sh-406 chassis and the BELARUS MSU-108 snow-clearing machine will be established by the Vitebsk Tractor Spare Parts Plant (VZTCh), which is part of the MTZ-Holding structure, – reported the corporate publication of OJSC MTZ "Traktor.by", citing information from Mikhail Barinkov, chief specialist for the organization and support of OJSC MTZ production. – Currently, the Sh-406 and MSU-108 are assembled at the Minsk Tractor Works. For now, this type of product is highly specialized and produced in small quantities. Transferring production to the Vitebsk Tractor Spare Parts Plant will free up MTZ's production capacity and increase the output of these machines.

Since VZTCh lacks its own facilities for such production, it has been decided to locate the assembly section on the premises of the machine-tool building enterprise "Vistan," which is also part of "MTZ-Holding." Organizational and preparatory work has already begun, the territory is being improved, and the technological equipment, tooling, and instruments necessary for serial production are being purchased. The assembly of prototype machines is planned to start by the end of the year.

"MTZ-Holding" was registered in the State Register of Holdings in 2014. Currently, in addition to the parent enterprise, Minsk Tractor Works, its structure includes the Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Assemblies, the Vitebsk Tractor Spare Parts Plant, the Minsk Gear Plant, the Smorgon Aggregate Plant, the Lepel Repair and Mechanical Plant, the Khoiniki Hydraulic Equipment Plant, the Narovlya Hydraulic Equipment Plant, the Mozyr Machine-Building Plant, the Orsha Tool Plant, "Firmennaya Torgovlya Promyshlennosti," "Vistan," the Gomel Machine-Tool and Assembly Plant, and "StankoGomel."

The Vitebsk Tractor Spare Parts Plant was established in 1960 on the basis of a vehicle repair plant. Since January 1962, it became a branch of the Minsk Tractor Works, and in 1994 it was transformed into an independent enterprise, remaining part of MTZ. In 2014, the plant joined "MTZ-Holding."
