Botanical Garden invites to visit lantern garden
Special gifts from Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) were prepared for young conquerors of scientific, sports, and stage heights, as well as their mentors. At the Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth, representatives of the regional authorities, the main department for education, and the public association "Belaya Rus" congratulated talented club members, winners of various competitions and contests on the New Year holidays.
– The Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth hosts 350 interest groups attended by about 4,000 children. This institution of additional education is particularly dear to my heart, as I myself gladly attended music classes here in my youth, – recalls Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, with a smile. – The children whom we congratulate today on the New Year and their brilliant successes are the pride of our region and country.
Acknowledging the effective work of the institution of additional education, the honored guests presented the Palace of Children and Youth with multi-boards and laptops, expressing hope that the new equipment would help young talents and educators in conquering new heights.
– The children invited to today's event and their mentors are truly creative, hardworking, and responsible, – noted Dmitry Andreev, Director of the Regional Palace of Children and Youth. – I am confident that each of them has an interesting future ahead, where their passion will benefit society.
By the way, young researchers, athletes, artists, humorists, and bloggers look to the future with optimism. For each of them, their hobby is a special world, a source of strength and inspiration.
Kirill Malakhov, an 11th-grader from Vitebsk Secondary School No. 44:
– Among my hobbies, sports, radio electronics, and programming take the first places. I used to do biathlon and track and field, and now I have become seriously interested in powerlifting and have been training for two years under the guidance of Alexander Savelyev. I put in all my efforts to become a Master of Sport in classic bicep curl in 2023, and in December my dream came true.
Angelina Golovkova, a student at the Lyceum of VSU named after P. Masherov, and Egor Chistobaev, an 11th-grader from Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 8:
– Our KVN team trains at the Regional Palace of Children and Youth under the guidance of Vitaly Palvinsky. This educator identifies talented children during school games or performances at a summer health camp, where he works as a counselor. Attending these classes is very interesting, and I especially enjoy coming up with jokes on various topics together. By the way, our team performs quite successfully; in 2023, we became one of the winners of the National Art League of the Republic of Belarus. Soon, our team members will travel to Sochi, where they will perform on the same stage with the famous KVN host Alexander Maslyakov.
