Belarus to help African countries to develop healthcare sector
The meeting between the leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Chinese corporation Beijing Zhaongbai Business Management Co.Ltd ("Zhaongbai") discussed the results of a busy four-day visit to the Vitebsk region by a delegation from China.
In a conversation with journalists, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina noted that a number of agreements were reached during the visit of the Chinese partners. Firstly, a memorandum on cooperation in the IT sector was signed with the Vitebsk incubator of small business "Law and Order". The Belarusian side will provide a floor for Chinese companies and the most favored nation treatment. By March 1, a package of documents for the registration of a technopark named "BelZhaongbai" must be submitted. During a visit to Vitebsk State University, an agreement was concluded on the formation of the scientific and personnel potential of the technopark (a similar document was previously signed with Polotsk State University). In addition, the delegation visited several industrial enterprises. In the near future, a container with our products will be formed, which the Zhaongbai corporation will present in its technopark to study the demand of Chinese consumers, with the further creation of an industrial platform for enterprises of the Vitebsk region. These are mainly products of the Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products Concern, which are in demand in China today. By the way, last year the export of the Vitebsk region to China increased by one and a half times. We supply food and petrochemical products, fabrics, and sawn timber there; products from Dvina Brewery and Vitebsk Distillery are also in good demand. Chinese partners are ready to assist in supplying equipment to our enterprises, which are currently undergoing modernization.
The General Director of the corporation, Lei Ma, called the visit successful and fruitful. The guests saw the powerful potential in the industry and economy of the Vitebsk region. In particular, there are great opportunities for cooperation with Orsha Linen Mill and Vitba, and it is realistic to increase their exports to China several times over. Lei Ma admitted that he did not want to leave, but the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) is coming soon, and he needs to be with his family. After the holiday, the Chinese promise to come again to develop cooperation.
