Belarusian foreign minister to hoist Belarus flag in front of SCO building in Beijing

Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov held a meeting with a delegation from Volgograd headed by Chairman of the Volgograd Regional Duma Alexander Bloshkin.

– We need to further strengthen economic relations, assist business entities in establishing ties, and seek ways to expand cooperation. This is important for the successful development of the economy, on which the well-being of our people and the economic potential of the states depend, – emphasized Dmitry Demidov.

The head of the Vitebsk region's parliamentary corps noted that Belarus's trade turnover with the Volgograd region for January-April of the current year amounted to 87 million dollars. The country's largest flagships, such as MTZ, MAZ, Gomselmash, etc., cooperate with the Russian region.

– As for the manufacturers of the Vitebsk region, the export of goods to the Volgograd region for four months amounted to about 2.6 million dollars. For example, Novopolotsk "EddiTek" resumed shipments of additives for engine oils worth 1.3 million dollars. The Kokhanovo Pipe Plant "Beltuboplast" shipped products worth about 700 thousand dollars, – noted Dmitry Demidov. – Work on the export of cylinders for liquefied gas by "Cylinders-Bel" LLC, glass fabrics by "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" OJSC, and sprayers by "Belama Plus" LLC has been intensified. "Polymerkonstruktsiya" UP is interested in close cooperation with the Volgograd region.

The head of the Vitebsk region's parliamentary corps expressed confidence that all plans for cooperation, which are built on the terms of counter-trade and long-term relationships, will undoubtedly be implemented. We need to find schemes that would lead to mutual interest of enterprises and regions.

– There are close economic ties between our regions, and today they are only strengthening, – emphasized Alexander Bloshkin. – Our people buy light industry products, agricultural products, and machinery with great pleasure. The executive authorities of our region have recently concluded new agreements on cooperation in economy, culture, and tourism. We highly appreciate this.
