Belarusian MPs ratify security treaty with Russia
Issues of housing and communal services, improvement, leasing of a lake, use of family capital, and more were considered at a personal reception of citizens by the President's Aide – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Sergey Levkovich.
Two residents of Vitebsk, living in a multi-story building on Titova Street, came to the reception of the President's Aide. One of them, who lives on the first floor, shared the problems faced by the residents:
– Due to a leak in the basement, there is an unbearable smell in the apartments. Recently, there was a sewage failure – all its contents ended up in the toilet and bathroom. The emergency service eliminated the malfunctions and cleared the external networks.
The Chairman of the City Executive Committee, Alexey Geroev, confirmed that the problem is known and the external networks have indeed been checked. However, according to him, the situation requires further attention.
– Violations are often detected in this house when foreign objects are removed from the sewage system, – he noted.
– Some neighbors use the sewage system as a trash can, and it is difficult to find those responsible. Our task is to convince the residents to use the benefits of civilization correctly. If accidents still occur, the services must respond promptly, – noted Sergey Levkovich, emphasizing the importance of prompt response from utility services in this case.
The President's Aide instructed to develop measures to eliminate the unpleasant odor from the basement and apartments.
The second resident, a mother of many children, raised the issue of using maternity capital to buy a house.
– I am raising six children alone, and I would like to buy a house so that they can spend time outdoors and get hardened, as the children often get sick, – she said.
A representative of the regional executive committee's labor, employment, and social protection committee explained that the maternity capital had already been partially used, but there is still an opportunity for early use of the remaining amount. However, for this, it is necessary for the applicant to be registered as needing to improve housing conditions. In this specific situation, the woman already owns two apartments in Vitebsk in the Bilevo microdistrict and on Titova Street.
