Belarus to deliver radioactive waste management report at IAEA review meeting

The number one topic is spring sowing. Measures to prepare agricultural organizations of the Vitebsk region for field work are being discussed at an off-site open meeting of the regional executive committee in Dubrovno.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food, Yuri Gorlov, is taking part in its work. The plenary session was opened by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin.

- The spring sowing campaign is the most important stage for the agricultural year, on which the fate of the future harvest largely depends, - emphasized the head of the regional executive committee. - Based on the results of work for 2024, the growth rate of gross production in crop production was 112.4 percent compared to the level of 2023.

The task for 2025 is to ensure the volume of gross production in agricultural organizations of the region at the level of the previous year of 107.0 percent, including crop production – at least 115.6 percent.

Andrei Bulavkin, Chairman of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, spoke about what has already been done and what issues need to be promptly finalized. The meeting will also discuss the topic of reforming agricultural organizations in the region. Participants of the meeting will visit the machine yard of OJSC "Dubrovensky Rayagropromservice". Here they will get acquainted with the organization of agricultural machinery repair and the work of the created inter-district mechanized detachments. At OJSC "Yakubovo-Agro", they will see how the top dressing of winter grain crops, machinery repair, and the clearing of low-quality gardens are organized.
