BelTA presents WW2 victory’s anniversary projects at CIS news agencies council session
The Vitebsk region is hosting the regional patriotic forum "Heirs of Victory," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
Its participants include youth and activists from all districts of the Vitebsk region. At the beginning of the day, a requiem rally was held at the memorial complex "For Our Soviet Motherland."
The forum participants were welcomed by the Deputy Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Anastasia Prokofieva, and the Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Gleb Gulenkov. They noted that the Orsha region made a huge contribution to the victory over fascism, and 10 natives of our city were awarded the highest title – "Hero of the Soviet Union."
The memory of all those who did not return from the battlefields was honored with a minute of silence, followed by a flower-laying ceremony.
