Belarus’ customs service prepared to reciprocate and reopen any border checkpoint
Last weekend, the Miory district became a center of attraction for young people interested in the history and future of their country. The "Time to Be Together" forum was held here, dedicated to the memory of the heroism of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War and its significance for modern Belarus.
The event began at the Khutor Disnenskogo Rubezha with a solemn opening, a minute of silence, and a dialogue between youth and the regional leadership and representatives of various departments.
During the discussion, Sergey Romanov, Deputy Head of the Department of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations for the Vitebsk Region, emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory.
- Such events remind us of the terrible events that swept through our lands like a hurricane. We must remember the feats of the Soviet people, who, under the oppression of daily risk and fear, strove to free the world from the fascist threat. Our department is one of those that contributes to establishing historical truth by participating in excavations to find the remains of fallen soldiers, partisans, and local residents during the occupation. This work is extremely important as an act of preserving historical memory. It allows us to strengthen the connection between generations and pass on a truthful chronicle of the people's feat to future citizens of the country, on which our values and national identity are based, he emphasized.
Forum participants also took part in a motor rally to memorable places in the Miory district. They visited the burial site of war victims in the forest park area of Disna and the mass grave of liberator soldiers, where rallies and flower-laying ceremonies were held.
The "Time to Be Together" youth forum became a significant event, uniting the memory of a heroic past with a modern dialogue about the future. It once again proved that the feats of Soviet heroes will forever remain in the hearts of the Belarusian people.
