From farmyard to top model: The story of this Belarusian will stun you
The III International Scientific and Practical Conference "The Role and Significance of Forensic Expert Activity and Forensic Expertology in Ensuring National Security" is being held in Minsk, a BELTA correspondent reports.
The event is organized by the Scientific and Practical Center of the State Committee of Forensic Experts (SCFE). The conference is held to exchange scientific and practical experience in forensics, forensic examination, as well as to develop cooperation. Representatives of the SCFE, the State Secretariat of the Security Council, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Investigative Committee, other state bodies, as well as foreign guests are participating in the event.
"The conference shows that Belarus is a 'trendsetter' in the field of forensic examination. All our colleagues appreciate this. Everyone strives to learn something new, to share experience and developments. The event is held at a significant time for us - the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and World War II. Such conferences unite not only experts, but also peoples who fought shoulder to shoulder with the fascist invaders. I hope that this consolidation will help us in the future to jointly counter the challenges that the modern world and cross-border crime pose to us," emphasized the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Forensic Experts - Chief State Forensic Medical Examiner of Belarus Yury Ovsiyuk.
According to Vadim Poznyak, Head of the Scientific and Practical Center of the SCFE, holding such conferences creates a foundation for the future. "Today, criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings are largely formed based on the internal conviction of the person conducting the proceedings. We want these actions to be based on facts obtained through scientific methods," he noted.
The conference features expositions of special technical means and equipment used for conducting examinations and scientific research, as well as methodological and reference literature.
"The conference has shown that Belarusian forensic experts have achieved great success, both in science and in practical activities. We regularly exchange methodological materials," noted Elena Rossinskaya, Head of the Department of Forensic Examinations, Scientific Supervisor of the Institute of Forensic Examinations of the Kutafin Moscow State Law University.
According to her, the event will discuss the creation of a Belarusian-Russian network program for training in expertology.
On October 2, speeches on various expert areas will be heard in two thematic sections. On October 3, the "Tribune of Young Scientist" competition is planned, which is held to attract youth to conduct scientific research on topical issues of forensic examination, develop the scientific initiative of researchers, and stimulate creative activity.
