Belarus’ GDP up by 1.3% in 2025
First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov introduced the new head, Kirill Masharsky, to the staff of the state institution "National Tourism Agency" and updated the tasks for the development of the sector, a BELTA correspondent reports.
Nikolai Snopkov noted the significant potential of the hospitality industry and the head's focus on achieving specific results. The government, for its part, will provide support to the staff. It is important that professionals work in the structure who understand what is being discussed and know how to realize the country's tourism potential. "Tourism includes 55 types of economic activity. Without inter-industry balances, without interconnection, development will be difficult," Nikolai Snopkov noted. "A lot of work has been done to build a new architecture. We abolished the Department of Tourism, raised the status of the agency - the agency reports directly to the government. We have built a vertical, reformatted the TIC (Tourist Information Centers. - BELTA note), and identified responsible and specific executors in the regional executive committees and district executive committees."
According to the First Deputy Prime Minister, the system now needs fine-tuning. "Your task is to determine the long-term philosophy and ideology of the tourism industry development, what will make people travel to Belarus in the long run, what we can offer the world, what our unique selling proposition is," said Nikolai Snopkov.
