Get vaccinated against the flu!
The vaccination campaign started in October 2023. The Rossony Central District Hospital has received anti-influenza vaccine (trivalent) manufactured in Russia, which is used for free immunization.
To get vaccinated, anyone can contact the healthcare organization at their place of residence - the polyclinic, фельдшерско-акушерские пункты (paramedic and obstetric stations), or general practitioner's outpatient clinics of the Rossony Central District Hospital.
Modern influenza vaccines, in addition to forming specific immunity to certain influenza viruses, enhance the body's general resistance to other respiratory viruses.
Influenza vaccines have low reactogenicity, and local and general reactions are extremely rare.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends influenza vaccination as the only realistic way to protect against this infection and as an opportunity to create herd immunity.
Vaccination is especially important for people at high risk of developing complications, as well as for people living with or caring for individuals in high-risk groups.
Temporary contraindications for vaccination include: the period of acute illness or exacerbation of a chronic disease. The vaccine can be administered after normalization of temperature (at the end of the acute illness) and when the chronic disease enters remission.
In accordance with the National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations, free influenza vaccinations are provided to the following population groups: children aged 6 months to 3 years; children aged 3 years and adults with chronic diseases; schoolchildren; immunocompromised individuals; individuals over 65 years of age; pregnant women; healthcare workers; children and adults residing in institutions with 24-hour stay; employees of state bodies ensuring state security and population life support.
In addition to vaccination, it is important to observe personal protective measures, such as:
- regular hand washing and proper drying;
- proper respiratory hygiene – covering the mouth and nose with tissues when coughing and sneezing, followed by proper disposal of the tissues;
- timely self-isolation of people who feel unwell, with high fever and other flu symptoms;
- avoiding close contact with sick people;
- avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Dear residents of Rossony District! By vaccinating our children and ourselves, we will protect ourselves from influenza and its potential severe consequences. Remember: the more people in society are vaccinated, the safer it is to live in it!
