Dear residents of the Rossony district!

We draw your attention to the current problem associated with the burning of dry vegetation, which begins with the onset of warm weather.

This phenomenon annually causes significant environmental damage and poses a serious ecological threat. Some residents mistakenly believe that burning promotes better plant growth; however, in reality, it leads to devastating consequences. Burning not only destroys vegetation but also disrupts the ecosystem's balance, threatening the lives of many animals and microorganisms that play a crucial role in maintaining soil health.

Every spring, the territory of our country is covered with traces of this destructive practice, which negatively affects the ecosystem. The destruction of vegetation leads to soil erosion, deterioration of air quality, and loss of biodiversity. Furthermore, smoke from burning vegetation can cause health problems for people, especially those suffering from respiratory diseases.

According to Article 16.40 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses, the illegal burning of dry vegetation, grasses, and agricultural residues is a serious offense that can result in significant fines. The fine ranges from ten to thirty base units, emphasizing the importance of complying with environmental norms and regulations.

From March 6, 2025, due to changes in weather conditions and the start of the fire hazard season, officials of the Rossony Forestry will transition to enhanced forest fire protection. This decision has been made to prevent potential forest fires and protect the region's natural resources. Forestry specialists will conduct regular patrols of forest areas, carry out preventive measures, and inform the public about forest safety rules during periods of increased fire hazard. It is important for every citizen to be aware of their responsibility for forest conservation and to observe precautions to avoid fires.

We urge all residents to show responsibility and care for nature by refraining from the practice of burning dry grass and shrubs.
