Lukashenko sets the task to repair all local roads within a year

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting on the development of the Grodno region, expressed criticism regarding the repair and maintenance of local roads, Belta reports.

The problems associated with the repair and maintenance of local roads remain relevant. "Although the governor reported on the way that a lot has been done. But what is the situation on the ground: an agro-town - a district center? How are these roads? I recently had the honor to drive on some roads from agro-towns to the district center. They knew I was coming, so they at least filled in the potholes. But in general, the situation is not rosy. This concerns citizens," the head of state noted.

The task has been set to rectify the situation as soon as possible. And this applies not only and not so much to the Grodno region, but to the country as a whole. "It's more or less okay here in Grodno. But in general, the situation across the country is not simple. Recently, the relevant Deputy Prime Minister was tasked to repair all roads within this year, whatever it takes. And, believe me, it will cost more tomorrow. Today, oil, petroleum products, the same bitumen for asphalt are cheaper than ever," the head of state said.
