Lukashenko: We cherish the friendship between Belarusians and Italians and strive to preserve it

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself personally, congratulated the people of Italy on their national holiday - Republic Day. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Regardless of external circumstances, the peoples of Belarus and Italy strive for mutual understanding, respect, and assistance. We cherish the friendship between us and try to preserve it, because, as the famous Italian proverb says, 'He who has found a friend has found a treasure'," the congratulatory message reads.

Belarusians and Italians are united by a deep respect for family and children, devotion to their land, sincerity towards others, friendliness, and hospitality, the head of state noted.

"We must cherish the accumulated experience of bilateral contacts. I am confident that fruitful interaction for the benefit of our countries will continue, and examples of successful cooperation, which we will be proud of, including in the fields of trade, tourism, and culture, will multiply," the President emphasized.

Alexander Lukashenko wished the people of Italy peace, prosperity, and well-being.
