Lukashenko recalled investment projects in the regions: each district must earn its own money

Each district must earn its own money. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to this during his visit to Mogilevliftmash, a BELTA correspondent reports.

Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko reported to the head of state on the main indicators of the region's socio-economic development. The gross regional product growth rate in the Mogilev region for January-May was 98.6% compared to the same period last year.

"You have three failures in the region. Most surprisingly, your industry is also failing," Alexander Lukashenko noted.

As Anatoly Isachenko clarified, they cannot reach the planned GRP indicators due to poor results in industry, retail, and wholesale trade. As for industry, there are issues in two areas - woodworking and cement production. They expect to resolve them by the end of the year, and there are already some shifts.

The President inquired about the pace of housing construction, how problematic issues at the largest enterprises in the region are being resolved, and how investment projects are being implemented in the region. "The issue is not to employ people. We have almost no problems with that. The issue is that each district must earn its own money," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. "And this project they are creating there, not just created - reported."

"Each district has its own project. Projects of various orientations. They are literally all in progress," the governor replied. As an example, he cited the cultivation of rainbow trout in the southeast of the Mogilev region. The enterprise grows 20 tons of fish monthly, and the products are very popular in retail chains.

Alexander Lukashenko touched upon the same topic during a meeting with the labor collective of Mogilevliftmash, when the issue of employment and the feasibility of building new production facilities in the region arose. "You know my 'tough' project: within this year - maximum next year, each district must create a high-tech enterprise. 21 districts (in the Mogilev region. - BELTA note) - 21 enterprises. We will create them, we have started moving. We are helping with money. They need people there - and people with good brains. Therefore, we will need people. We will build the enterprises, that is not a problem today anymore," the President noted.

The Head of State visited the production facilities at "Mogilevliftmash". The discussion focused on further prospects, including increasing the volume and range of manufactured products, and utilizing additional territories.

Then, Alexander Lukashenko inspected the exhibition of modern elevator equipment produced at the enterprise. The holding company also manufactures electric motors of various modifications, woodworking, agricultural, and household appliances.

One of the key points the Head of State emphasized was energy saving. The enterprise's arsenal includes, for example, a device for disinfecting elevators and premises, which is particularly relevant in light of the recent pandemic.

"Mogilevliftmash" is actively working on import substitution. Several investment projects are being implemented at the enterprise, which were also reported to the President.

First and foremost, this includes the modernization of high-speed elevator production and elevators with gearless drives. Such a mechanism has a high efficiency factor, increased reliability and durability, and the elevators move with virtually no noise or vibration.

The enterprise is also creating production facilities for electric motors, traction motors for electric transport, and explosion-proof electric motors for mining industry enterprises.
