Lukashenko proposed that Tomsk and Belarusian scientists engage in the joint development of advanced technologies

A good example of intellectual cooperation between Belarusian and Tomsk scientists could be the implementation of a project to produce transistors for aerospace and special purposes. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with the Governor of Russia's Tomsk Region, Vladimir Mazur, BelTA has learned.

The Tomsk Region is among the top three leaders in Russia's national scientific and technological ranking, and the city of Tomsk is called the student capital. There are 25 cooperation agreements between educational institutions of Belarus and the Tomsk Region, and a number of joint research projects are being carried out.

"However, I believe that the potential for interaction in education and science is far from being fully realized. We must competently and rationally use each other's highest competencies," the head of state emphasized. "A good example of such intellectual cooperation could be the implementation by your scientists, together with our National Academy of Sciences and companies, of a project to produce transistors for aerospace and special purposes, which is highly relevant."

"I am convinced that together we are capable of creating the most advanced technologies, eliminating our dependence, Russia's and Belarus's, on the West," Alexander Lukashenko added.
