President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is orienting the current parliamentary convocation to resolve all tasks in the development of the Constitution before the end of their term. The Head of State announced this at a meeting with the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Vladimir Andreichenko, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

The Head of State noted that he has not noticed any shortcomings in the work of the current parliamentary convocation so far. "There have been no such significant shortcomings or blunders in the work of the current parliament composition," he said. "But we are not summing up the parliament's work yet, we will return to this later. I must definitely visit the parliament after the elections during the last session of this convocation."

Alexander Lukashenko outlined the need to discuss the results of the ninth and the tasks for the tenth session of the current parliamentary convocation. "All tasks facing our parliament must be resolved. Because the new composition should not be left with this. And we can resolve the issue, especially in the development of our Constitution. All laws must be adopted. I would like to hear what we have left. It seems we are doing well in this regard," the President stated.

He also announced his readiness to discuss other issues: "Perhaps the deputies have some problems or requests. I am ready to respond. In general, the core of the parliament, in my opinion, is good. Deputies are not afraid to engage with people, we see the leaders of the parliament in the media. But the next parliament will naturally differ from the current one. Because the tasks are more global, and the situation is not simple."

Considering that the current parliamentary convocation is already practically concluding its work, and a new composition will be elected in February of the coming year on a single voting day, Alexander Lukashenko inquired about Vladimir Andreichenko's impressions of the deputies' work.

"We have extensive experience. You can compare and say what has been achieved, what has not, and what still needs to be done. Although we will return to this issue more than once in order to form a proper composition of the future parliament," said Alexander Lukashenko. "Yes, the people will decide, the people will elect, but the people must be informed. We need to talk in detail about the situation. And about how the parliament worked. And remind people of the functions of parliament. Because it so happened since Soviet times that people got used to the idea that deputies should repair roofs and fix fences. We have long since moved away from that, we have a small parliament in terms of numbers. And it is engaged in lawmaking. This is its main job."
