Krasnodar Krai is a key region in the south of Russia where Belarus must establish a foothold. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the Governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"We consider Kuban to be a key region where we must 'land'," the head of state stated. "Cooperation with you can proceed in all areas. This includes agriculture, mechanical engineering, and elevators. If Kuban needs anything, we will definitely reach an agreement."

According to the President, Belarusian construction workers are interested in participating in the design and construction of social facilities and institutions. "Everything we agree on, we will certainly fulfill," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko.

Based on the results of last year, the trade turnover between Belarus and Krasnodar Krai increased by 60% and amounted to almost $557 million. The results for the first seven months of this year also demonstrate positive dynamics: mutual trade exceeded $337 million, an increase of 24.8%.
