Lukashenko warns new local government heads against being permissive

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, while approving the appointments of new heads of the local power vertical, advised them to more actively demand the fulfillment of assigned tasks from their subordinates, BelTA correspondent reports.

The head of state recalled that a few days ago, a number of tasks were set at the republican seminar-meeting on the development of animal husbandry. Moreover, many of the future heads of districts were also present at this event. "The tasks that were set in the field of animal husbandry are clear and known to you. The only thing I ask of you is: do not 'make allowances'. You know, especially those who worked in the agricultural sector, what it means to make allowances. They will come to you now and tell you that this or that is impossible," said Alexander Lukashenko.

"But, as I often say, we are not at war. We are doing in peacetime what we have always done and what we know how to do. Make your subordinates do it," the head of state advised.

The President noted that there are various problematic issues in all regions, but three regions require increased attention: "Vitebsk and Gomel regions, Mogilev region - this is strict control."
