Lukashenko: Not all Western democracies like Belarus' peaceful policy

Belarus pursues an open and peace-loving policy, which is not to the liking of all Western democracies. This was stated by the Head of State Alexander Lukashenko while accepting letters of credence from ambassadors of foreign countries, a BELTA correspondent reports.

In Belarus, which has survived many upheavals and repeatedly become a theater of military operations, the lessons of history have been well learned, the President emphasized.

"Our main task is to prevent a new world war," he stated. "Minsk has consistently pursued a very responsible foreign policy. Never in history have we extended our jurisdiction beyond national borders."

"We pursue an open and peace-loving policy. But not all Western democracies like this. And then arguments of powerlessness come into play - sanctions," the Belarusian leader continued.

He noted that many countries have repeatedly experienced such pressure. Just like Belarus. "Therefore, we consistently and persistently oppose any illegal restrictive measures that harm not so much us as the whole world," Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
