Lukashenko instructed to create a commission that will deal with export issues

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has instructed to create a commission to address issues related to the export of Belarusian goods. This became known during a meeting between the head of state and the Ambassador of Belarus to Russia, Dmitry Krutoy, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

A corresponding decree on the establishment of the commission is to be signed in the near future. Its exact name is not yet known, but Dmitry Krutoy will head it.

"Define normal powers for yourselves in the decree," the President demanded. "Of course, this will be a burden on the apparatus you have. It's okay, as a new person, you will find those people who are currently underloaded or who can handle a larger volume of work. But here too, ministers, the government apparatus – all those you deem necessary must be involved."

At the same time, Alexander Lukashenko demanded to report to him directly if any issues arise in the commission's work. "It is your business how you will plan this work. If people approach me, they will immediately go to you. And you gather together and discuss. Collegiality is present in your character, and I believe responsibility is also present. Report directly, say what needs to be done," the President said.

"We have endured. Now we need to rise from our knees. Sanctions or no sanctions – the whole world is ready to buy both mineral fertilizers and petroleum products. Even Russia has a deficit. And so on. Therefore, there are no goods in Belarus that we cannot sell. We just need to get moving. You, your commission, are responsible for particularly important groups of goods," the head of state emphasized.

As Dmitry Krutoy told journalists, the President requires that this commission does not interfere in the current activities of enterprises, but acts as a kind of industry body and makes proposals on fundamental issues.

"For example, on issues of logistics or railway tariffs. That is, on those matters that the director of our enterprise cannot resolve independently in Russia, where the intervention of the prime minister or presidential level may be required," the ambassador explained.

The commission will primarily work with the most important groups of goods. The head of state has instructed to identify 75 key positions.

Answering the question of whether the commission will deal only with exports to Russia or exports in general, the ambassador noted: "First of all, of course, exports to Russia."
