Lukashenko: Belarus is ready to intensify cooperation with Venezuela

On his meeting with the Vice President of Venezuela for Planning, Minister of Planning Ricardo Menendez, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko emphasized the need to intensify cooperation, BelTA reports.

"I am pleased to meet with you. We have known each other for a long time, you know Belarus well," the Belarusian leader said at the beginning of the meeting. "We started from scratch during the lifetime of our common friend Hugo Chavez. We did a lot, but through no fault of ours – Belarus and Venezuela – there was a certain pause in our relations. They existed, these relations, but not so intensive."

The head of state noted that, fortunately, it was possible not to lose the previously defined areas, and now they need to be given a new impetus.

The President proposed to review all joint projects, excluding everything that is irrelevant and, if necessary, adding new areas and spheres of cooperation, and thereby update the roadmap that was determined earlier.
