Lukashenko recalled the task of ensuring quality medical care in rural areas

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko recalled the task of ensuring quality medical care in rural areas and small towns. He stated this when appointing Alexander Khodjaev as the new Minister of Health of Belarus, a BELTA correspondent reports.

Speaking about Alexander Khodjaev's upcoming work in the ministerial post, the President noted that it would not be easy, but much has been done recently both by the ministry itself and with the participation of the commission that was created by order of the head of state.

"They have thoroughly reviewed the primary healthcare level. You understand perfectly well that we cannot lose the villages and small towns. This is the foundation of our state. And people live there who primarily need help. I am not saying that we will not work in the cities. But in the cities, we have more or less established order, and the assistance here is provided at a higher level than in rural areas," said Alexander Lukashenko.

In this regard, according to the head of state, it has already been outlined what needs to be done, and order has been established. "I think that this year we will solve this problem - with FAPs, district hospitals, local clinics where they exist, nursing care homes. But further action needs to be more decisive," he stressed.
