President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has instructed to resolve all identified problems in higher education by September. He stated this at a meeting with members of the Republican Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"My requirement after our meeting today is: all problems have been voiced, they need to be thoroughly reviewed and examined. If a problem exists, it must be solved; if it was not articulated correctly, it should be set aside or ranked as the 25th problem. Everything should be prioritized and resolved. This must be done by September," the head of state said. "You must organize this process. Government members, high-ranking officials, and university rectors are present here. Organize it. The demands will be serious. By September 1, we must gather at my level. And you must show and report to me. This includes textbooks and other materials. Start with humanitarian (fields. - BELTA's note)."

Regarding textbooks, the President noted that there are not many disciplines that require a fundamental revision of educational materials. For example, in exact sciences, such a need typically does not arise. For the rest, Alexander Lukashenko proposed entrusting the preparation of updated textbooks to university rectors: "Let's assign one textbook to each rector. Let them organize the writing of this textbook."

The head of state also emphasized that the material should be presented in a clear and accessible language, and some aspects might be drawn from Soviet textbooks.
