Lukashenko: Belarus and Russia must create their own happiness

Belarus and Russia must create their own happiness. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in Kazan during negotiations with the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

Immediately after arriving, the head of state proceeded to the Kazan Kremlin. Here, Alexander Lukashenko and Rustam Minnikhanov held a bilateral meeting.

"Perhaps it is even good that external circumstances have pushed us closer together. We have stopped arguing over trivial matters. We have realized that we have few friends in general (and perhaps no real friends at all) and that we must create our own happiness," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko.

The President noted that the parties are now implementing these approaches in practice – it is working, but not without difficulty. "It takes time. We will do it," stated the Belarusian leader.

Alexander Lukashenko believes that Tatarstan is the most developed, high-tech region of Russia with a serious level of industry. At the same time, market competition is increasing due to circumstances – Western companies have left, and Chinese and other manufacturers are taking their place. However, despite this, Tatarstan demonstrates steady economic growth.

"We know how this growth is achieved. But we are very pleased. We want to cooperate with you because this is a high level of development," emphasized the head of state. "There is someone to talk to, people understand, manageability is very high, a хозяйский (owner-like) approach – from the ground up."

The President is convinced that together Belarus and Tatarstan are capable of achieving much. "If we reach an agreement, there will be no problems from our side," he assured.
