Lukashenko: the issue regarding those who have left but want to receive medical treatment in Belarus cheaply will be resolved

The issue concerning those who have left Belarus but continue to visit the country for affordable medical treatment will be resolved.

This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on April 2nd at the ceremony of laying a capsule at the construction site of a new city hospital in Grodno, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

Addressing the city residents, the President emphasized: "Grodno is our country, our land, our city. Not a millimeter will be given away to anyone here. But if someone finds it difficult or unpleasant here, we are not holding anyone back. It is a pity, of course, that some are leaving. But we are not holding anyone back."

In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko recalled a conversation with the former mayor of Grodno several years ago: "I said: 'People are leaving you, something is not right here.' He replied: 'Alexander Grigoryevich, they are leaving, but they come back to us to get their teeth fixed (literally). It's too expensive there.'"

"I must tell you that we will resolve this issue now. Regardless of the presidential elections or the electoral campaign, we will resolve it," the head of state assured. "Because you must understand: they come here to get their teeth fixed and treat other illnesses cheaply – at your expense. You pay taxes as individuals, and your enterprise also pays taxes. They come here for cheap treatment."
