Lukashenko: The Constitution is the legal foundation for the development of Belarusian statehood

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sent greetings to the participants of the International Conference "Supremacy of the Constitution: Constitutional Amendments and Modern Development of Constitutional Review". BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The Head of State noted the symbolism of such a representative forum being held in the year of the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of Belarus.

"In an era of global challenges and changes, the Basic Law of our country is the legal foundation for the development of Belarusian statehood, guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of citizens. The unique character of the Constitution is largely determined by the choice of the people made in referendums in favor of preserving the traditions of genuine democracy, historical truth, and spiritual and moral guidelines," the greetings state.
 
The key significance of the Basic Law in the system of regulatory legal acts necessitated the creation of the institution of constitutional review in Belarus, which also celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, the President pointed out.
 
"Throughout its activities, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus makes a significant contribution to the protection of the state system, the strengthening of law and order, and the ensuring of social justice," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
 
Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that the conference will open up new opportunities for exchanging experience in the field of developing constitutional legality.
 
The President wished the forum participants fruitful work, inexhaustible energy, peace, and good.
