Lukashenko appointed Pertsov as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Vladimir Pertsov as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, BelTA reports.

Until now, Vladimir Pertsov served as the Minister of Information of Belarus.

"Ideological work is coming to the forefront today. And a decision has been made to send you to the Presidential Administration to head this entire information sphere in the country. When appointing a Deputy Head of Administration for Economics here (you have probably followed this), I told him that we need to somehow concentrate and build a pyramid. There are many good specialists in ministries, departments, and the government – and to bring the work in economics to the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration. We need to pull up and put in order all mass media, ideological work, and bring it to the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration. Perhaps even have some commission under my leadership to consult and react in a timely manner," the head of state said.

Alexander Lukashenko noted Vladimir Pertsov's extensive experience in the information sphere. Previously, he worked as head of radio and television at the regional level, and headed the representative office of the Mir TV and Radio Company in Belarus. "A very solid company, respected by me. I have always had a good attitude towards it. It was during your tenure that this company rose," the head of state remarked.

"I would like everything to be put in order in Belarus. I mean ideological work. You can talk to people. This is a rarity for a person. I always say that it's a unique commodity when a person can conduct ideological work. Not just come, as we used to have on Thursdays, an informational political day: whether needed or not, who can or cannot, they talked, and often to the detriment," the President said.

"I think that this radical step – from the position of minister to head of mass media and ideological work in the country – is a necessary and useful step in this direction," Alexander Lukashenko noted. "There will be a lot of work. But it is very independent work. Do not think that someone – either the Head of Administration or someone else – will do this work. No, this is exclusively your organizational work. And the Head of Administration, everyone else, including myself, will help you. But this work needs to be built. I hope you will do it."
