Economy, agriculture, personnel in focus of Lukashenko’s meeting with Golovchenko

The economy of Belarus is generally performing well this year, although there are some concerning factors. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko while receiving a report from Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"As I am being informed, the economy is developing well so far this year. Although there are certain, as always, concerning factors. I would like us to focus primarily on this. But most importantly, I noticed in the media of various levels that we have a negative balance. Although small, a negative balance is forming (in foreign trade. - BELTA's note). As I understand it, the Ministry of Economy and the government should have paid attention to this and analyzed the situation," said the head of state.

He also inquired about the payment situation at the highest level. This concerns the volumes of accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Another financial topic of the report is the fulfillment of debt obligations.

Alexander Lukashenko inquired about the progress in implementing plans for the servicing of Belarusian equipment abroad: "We agreed that it is necessary to create unified centers for servicing all Belarusian equipment. And to determine - in which locations, for example, in Russia, the People's Republic of China, and other states."

"I am being oriented that we have certain shortcomings in housing construction. And a number of other shortcomings that we must pay attention to," the Belarusian leader outlined another set of issues.

The President separately addressed the situation in agriculture. "We need to mobilize. The weather is good so far. God willing, it will continue to be so. We expect a good harvest, but it must be gathered. Let us have surplus grain and so on. This will never hurt. This is our gold and foreign exchange reserve," emphasized the Belarusian leader.

Alexander Lukashenko also stated his readiness to discuss personnel issues in connection with existing vacancies.
