Lukashenko ordered the creation of a working group to analyze the work of the NAS

On June 18, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on the establishment of a permanent working group to analyze the activities of the National Academy of Sciences. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Head of State.

The working group includes independent competent experts, authoritative scientists with profound knowledge, high qualifications, and significant experience in the scientific field and public administration system. Vasily Gerasimov, Chairman of the Committee of State Control, has been appointed its head.

The working group will study issues related to the practice-oriented nature and effectiveness of scientific research and development by scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the implementation of developments in the economy and social sphere, the development of import-substituting products and technologies, and the export of scientific and technical products.
 
If necessary, heads and specialists of republican government bodies and other organizations, as well as relevant specialists in specific fields of science and practical activities, will be involved in the group's work.
 
Annually by July 15 (this year – by November 1), the working group will submit a report to the President on the results of its work and proposals for resolving identified problematic issues.
 
The State Committee on Science and Technology is tasked with ensuring the activities of the working group.
