Lukashenko comments on claims about Belarus’ alleged plans to seize Chernobyl NPP

Belarus awaits a visit from PRC Chairman Xi Jinping. This was stated by the head of state Alexander Lukashenko while accepting letters of credence from ambassadors of nine foreign countries on October 1 at the Palace of Independence, a BELTA correspondent reports.

The President noted that October 1 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. "Taking this opportunity, I want, Mr. Ambassador, to congratulate the entire Chinese people on your great national holiday on your behalf. This is also our holiday," said Alexander Lukashenko. "It is very significant for us that you are presenting letters of credence on this very day."

 

Lukashenko: there are no unfriendly peoples or secondary countries for us

The head of state emphasized that China has always been and remains the most important, reliable, and special trade, economic, and political partner for Belarus. "An unprecedentedly high level of trusting cooperation has been reached between Minsk and Beijing," stated the Belarusian leader. He noted that amid global political tensions, Belarus and China have managed to elevate bilateral relations to the level of an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership. Despite the crisis processes in the global economy, the parties achieved a new record in trade turnover by the end of last year.

"I want to express special gratitude for the constructive approach to cooperation to my dear friend, PRC Chairman Xi Jinping. And convey my best wishes to him, that we are awaiting his visit to Belarus at a time convenient for him," said Alexander Lukashenko.
