What agreements were reached at the Belarusian-Pakistani business forum
The day before the presidential visit, a representative Belarusian delegation, including ministers and heads of enterprises, arrived in Islamabad. Before the high-level talks, they were scheduled to hold meetings with their counterparts and consolidate the reached agreements at a joint business forum. On the plane flying directly to the Pakistani capital, they reread their presentations and draft agreements. Some enterprises were anticipating substantial contracts.
On November 25, the Belarusian-Pakistani business forum was held in Islamabad. Nearly thirty companies from Belarus participated, and about one hundred from Pakistan.
Thirty servicemen from the honor guard lined the red carpet. The welcoming ceremony was accompanied by celebratory artillery salutes. This tradition is not merely considered good form but also signifies the friendly disposition of the host party.
The visit of the President of Belarus was approached with responsibility in Islamabad. The capital of the Islamic state was adorned with Belarusian national symbols and posters featuring portraits of Alexander Lukashenko and the top leadership of Pakistan. The posters themselves were signed in Belarusian and English: "Mutual respect, trust and partnership," "Building bridges for a prosperous future," "Partners in progress and prosperity," "A new era of cooperation."
