The working schedule of the President of Belarus is always very eventful. Alexander Lukashenko holds meetings and working sessions on the most pressing issues of the country's development, regularly visits regions, makes foreign visits and receives foreign guests himself, communicates with journalists, signs decrees and laws. And even when there are no public events, it does not mean that the head of state is not working. However, even during his leisure time, whether it's a hockey practice or chopping wood, Alexander Lukashenko from time to time finds a reason for another assignment. As he likes to say, one must always proceed from life.
The "President's Week" project is for those who want to keep pace with the head of state, to be aware of the most relevant statements and decisions of the Belarusian leader.
Alexander Lukashenko began his working week with a meeting with businessmen. The private sector forms a significant share of the Belarusian economy, and therefore the development of a comfortable business environment is a priority. The President's main message is that in the country, primarily at the level of officials, there should be no division of enterprises into private and state-owned. Approaches should be common, and the state is always ready to provide support to private entrepreneurs, but it is important to work honestly and transparently, acting in the interests of the country.
On Tuesday, February 18, Alexander Lukashenko met with Field Marshal and Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army Khalifa Belqasim Haftar. Once, relations between Belarus and Libya were built quite well. Now the task is to try to restore the previous level of cooperation.
On Thursday, February 20, at the Palace of Independence, a beautiful tradition – on the eve of the Defender of the Fatherland Day and the Armed Forces Day, the President presented state awards and general epaulets to the highest officer staff. Alexander Lukashenko addressed important words to those for whom protecting the Motherland is a profession (link to the note about congratulations) on the holiday itself, February 23.
