Lukashenko signed a decree on conscription for active military service in March - May 2025
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 96 "On dismissal to the reserve and conscription for active military service, service in the reserve" on March 6. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Head of State.
The document provides for the conscription in March-May 2025 for active military service, service in the reserve of male citizens of Belarus who have reached the age of 18 by the day of conscription and who do not have the right to deferment from conscription, citizens of conscription age who have lost the right to deferment, as well as for service in the reserve - citizens from among the 1st-year students of higher educational institutions of agricultural profile, who have the right to deferment from conscription for continuing education and have expressed a desire to undergo such service.
The adoption of the decree will allow republican government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies to timely carry out measures for the conscription of citizens for active military service and service in the reserve.
At the same time, the decree provides for the dismissal to the reserve of servicemen of active military service and reservists who have served the established terms.
