Lukashenko pardons 16 convicts on the eve of Independence Day
On the eve of Independence Day, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, granted pardons to 16 convicted individuals who committed various crimes, including those of an extremist nature. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
Among those pardoned are eight women and eight men. Three of them are over 50 years old. Two have chronic illnesses, and one is disabled. Nine of the convicted individuals have minor children.
All of them have repented of their actions and pledged not to break the law.
