The working schedule of the President of Belarus is always very eventful.
Alexander Lukashenko holds meetings and working sessions on the most pressing issues of the country's development, regularly visits regions, makes foreign visits and receives foreign guests himself, communicates with journalists, signs decrees and laws. And even when there are no public events, it does not mean that the head of state is not working. However, even during his leisure time, whether it's a hockey practice or chopping wood, Alexander Lukashenko occasionally finds a reason for another assignment. As he likes to say, one must always proceed from life.
Alexander Lukashenko's working week began with a meeting with the Governor of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, who timed his visit to Minsk to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between the two cities. The President emphasized the special depth and spirituality of the relations between the people of Minsk and Saint Petersburg (Leningrad), calling cooperation with the Russian northern capital a priority of priorities.
The future of relations between Belarus and China was discussed at a meeting on Tuesday, July 15, with the Rector of Peking University, Gong Qihuang. And this future will be created, in part, by several thousand students from both countries studying at each other's universities. Student exchanges, joint programs, and now also a Belarusian-Chinese center for fundamental scientific research.
On Tuesday evening, the Head of State received the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, at his residence. The visit was short-term, but the conversation lasted almost three hours, and the heads of state managed to discuss many important issues.
On Thursday, July 17, Alexander Lukashenko received a report from the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, Yuri Senko. He emphasized special role of this organization, calling it effectively the most powerful "party" organization, rated in its organizational plan higher than any real party in the country.
On Friday, the most large-scale event of the week took place at the Palace of Independence - a conference callmeeting on the harvesting campaign. Representatives of the local government, heads of enterprises and organizations joined him via video link from all regions. They discussed how to literally wrest the harvest from the fields in this very difficult season. In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko demanded to act regardless of anything, and to resolve all tasks in a military manner.
Among the important documents signed by the Head of State, the following are worth highlighting: the law on amendments to social insurance and pension provision; the decree simplifying land plot registration; additional measures have been taken to provide troops with transport and UAVs in case of mobilization and wartime.
Decisions have also been made to support gifted students, representatives of talented youth. A total of Br800 thousand will be allocated from the Head of State's special funds for these purposes.
The Order of Motherhood has been awarded to female residents of several regions of Belarus.
Foreign congratulations on various occasions were sent this week to France and Nicaragua. The Head of State sent condolences to the President of Iraq in connection with the fire in the city of El-Kut.
Alexander Lukashenko congratulated People's Artist of the RSFSR Vasily Livanov on his 90th birthday. Viewers of differentlocals know and sincerely love the characters of charismatic film heroes and animated characters created by him.
But the art world also suffered a serious loss this week – the talented film director, actor, and screenwriter Alexander Mitta passed away. The Head of State sent condolences to the family and friends of the People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
