Lukashenko: Army readiness inspection will continue until spring
It is proposed to establish an educational center in Belarus for training personnel in promising areas. This was the subject of a meeting chaired by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA reports. "Today we need to determine what these promising areas are, without which no state can do without," the head of state noted. Belarusian Minister of Education Andrei Ivants stated that the proposed areas are those that the country needs. These include aircraft engineering, digital technologies, biotechnology, and a number of other fields for training personnel in engineering specialties. Corresponding schools and potential exist in Belarus based at four universities - BSU, BNTU, BSUIR, and BSTU.
Currently, experimental training programs are already being implemented at a number of universities, but, as the minister noted, not all students will be able to master them. "This does not mean that we are preparing them poorly. We are preparing them absolutely for all sectors of our economy. But we need a kind of special forces. And in this case, this (the creation of a new center. - BelTA's note) will actually be a continuation of the trajectory of the National Children's Technopark, where we see that the concentration of such talented individuals was absolutely justified," said Andrei Ivants. Nevertheless, the head of state raised a number of questions at the meeting, including whether a separate center should be established to develop these areas. After all, they can be developed within traditional centers, from universities to the Academy of Sciences. "There is enough space. If only there were people who could drive this forward," he remarked.
