“Rossony are dewdrops of dawn on the warm palm of the forests.” This is how the famous Belarusian poet David Simanovich once saw Rossony land, managing to convey in a few words the amazing beauty of our region's nature and the beauty of its inhabitants' souls.

The district has witnessed and been the arena of many historical events. The regiments of Ivan the Terrible passed through here. In 1566, during the Livonian War, the "Sokol" fortress was founded. Near Klyastitsy, on July 18, 1812, the vanguard of Wittgenstein's Russian corps, under the command of General Yakov Petrovich Kulnev, defeated the French corps of Marshal Oudinot, and prevented Napoleon's invasion of St. Petersburg. In the village of Troodovichi, the brothers Ivan and Francis Skoryna owned a small estate and property. In 1936, the Belarusian poet Gennady Buravkin was born in Rossony. On the shore of Lake Neshchardo, in the village of Muragi, the childhood and youth of the famous Belarusian writer Yan Borshchevsky took place. Rossony district is a land of partisan glory. One of the organizers and leaders of the underground and partisan movement was Pyotr Mironovich Masherov, a teacher at Rossony Secondary School.

Rossony district today is almost two thousand square kilometers in area, 128 settlements, and 192 lakes. It is inhabited by hospitable, energetic, and talented people who work in various sectors of the national economy, continuing the glorious traditions of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers. There are 25 agro-estates operating in the district, and "green routes" have been created and receive tourists.
