On compliance with the requirements of the legislation when collecting mushrooms and berries

The Rossonsky District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection reminds you to observe the established rules when gathering mushrooms, berries, and sap in the forest.

Often, the public neglects the rules for harvesting mushrooms, berries, and other forest resources and uses various devices that facilitate collection. For example, combs, scoops, and other prohibited tools are used for berry picking. Many also do not follow other collection rules. In particular, when picking mushrooms, mycelium is uprooted, and too many small chanterelles are harvested. This harms mushrooms and plants and reduces their yield in subsequent years. The penalty in such cases can be a fine of up to 20 base units. Along with the imposition of a fine, all prohibited collection tools are subject to confiscation.

In case of illegal collection of forest resources, in addition to being held liable, the offender will be charged their cost if the state inspector cannot confiscate them or if their confiscation is not economically feasible. The cost will be determined based on the tariffs established by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus. For example, for each kilogram of illegally collected berries, mushrooms, or nuts, you will have to pay 37 rubles. The offender is also obliged to compensate for the damage caused to the environment by the illegal collection of forest resources. For example, for 1 kg of illegally collected mushrooms, compensation for damage is 44.4 rubles.
