We draw attention to the new version of the Law "On the Protection of Atmospheric Air"

The Rosson District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection draws the attention of legal entities, including individual entrepreneurs, engaged in economic and other activities related to the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere, that as of 23.01.2024, a new version of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of 16.12.2008 No. 2-Z "On Air Protection" comes into force.

According to the new version of the Law, legal entities and individual entrepreneurs will also be required to obtain a permit for the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere or a comprehensive environmental permit when producing (generating) energy using waste of hazard classes 1-3 and (or) neutralizing waste at facilities affecting the atmosphere.

The exception applies to cases where the facilities affecting the atmosphere are not included in the list of facilities affecting the atmosphere for which permissible emission standards for pollutants into the atmosphere are established by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

We draw the attention of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs engaged in the production (generation) of energy using waste of hazard classes 1-3 and (or) neutralization of waste at facilities affecting the atmosphere, that a permit for the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere or a comprehensive environmental permit must be obtained within six months from the date of entry into force of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of 17.07.2023 No. 295-Z, i.e., by 23.07.2024.
