Attention, primroses!

One of the most important environmental problems is the preservation of plant species diversity. As a result of ill-considered human activities, many plant species may disappear, each of which is unique and its loss is irreversible.

Primroses are small plants, classified as ephemeroids, the earliest flowers that occupy a specific "ecological niche" in nature and are an integral component of natural biocenoses (early honey plants, sources of medicinal substances, preservation of soil cover integrity, especially during periods of soil oversaturation).

All ephemeroids are perennial plants. After their above-ground part dries out in early summer, they do not die – living underground organs are preserved in the soil.

The plants bloom for only a few weeks. The main processes that ensure their survival occur underground: in roots, tubers, and bulbs. In a short period, plants need to accumulate nutrients necessary for the following year, for the maturation and dispersal of seeds. By picking flowers, we prevent the plant from forming seeds for new generations. In addition, the plant weakens and may die.

In accordance with Article 24 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Plant World," unauthorized removal and transplantation of wild plants belonging to species included in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus from their habitats, their illegal trade, as well as their removal and any other actions that may lead to their death, reduction in numbers, or disruption of their habitats are prohibited.
For violation of this norm, guilty persons are brought to administrative responsibility in accordance with Article 16.8 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses.
