Birch sap harvesting

The Rossony District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection reminds citizens of the need to comply with the requirements for harvesting and collecting sap, established by law.

Birch sap harvesting is carried out in accordance with:

- the Forest Code of the Republic of Belarus;
- the Resolution of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus dated November 21, 2016 No. 37 "On the Approval of the Rules for Harvesting Tree Saps, Collection, Harvesting (Purchase) of Wild Plants and (or) their Parts".

In accordance with the Forest Code, the harvesting of tree saps is carried out in forest fund areas designated for these purposes by legal entities engaged in forestry, and their structural divisions (forestries).

When harvesting birch sap, individuals must have a forest ticket issued by a legal entity engaged in forestry.
In accordance with Article 16.19 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, violation of the rules for harvesting sap and its collection without permits entails a fine for a citizen of up to twenty basic units, for an individual entrepreneur - up to one hundred basic units, and for a legal entity - up to five hundred basic units.

Sap harvesting in specially protected natural areas, where the regime of protection and use prohibits sap harvesting (Article 16.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus), entails a fine for a citizen of up to thirty-five basic units, for an individual entrepreneur - up to one hundred basic units, for a legal entity - up to five hundred basic units.
