The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection clarified the cases of applying environmental norms and rules in determining greenhouse gas emissions
By the Resolution of the Ministry of Natural Resources dated 09.04.2025 No. 3-T, EcoNiP 17.09.08-001-2024 "Environmental Protection and Nature Management. Climate. Requirements (Rules) for Quantifying Greenhouse Gas Emissions", approved by the departmental resolution dated 28.03.2024 No. 8-T, have been clarified.
It is determined that EcoNiP are applied in the following cases:
for business entities conducting industrial accounting of greenhouse gas emissions from sources and their absorption by sinks;
for the formation of state programs in the field of environmental protection;
for the development of measures to prevent climate change, including measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and measures to adapt to climate change;
for environmental certification;
for strategic environmental assessment and environmental impact assessment.
Resolution No. 3-T entered into force on April 13, 2025.
