About recreation by the water

Each year, serious attention is paid to the preparation of public recreation areas on water bodies for the summer season. In accordance with the plans approved by local executive and administrative bodies, a number of measures have been carried out to equip recreation areas with small architectural forms, waste containers, barriers, and warning signs restricting activities in coastal zones as provided for by law.

All those who plan to spend their weekends in recreation areas on water bodies, and who appreciate and love the unique beauty of our nature and its generosity, the Rossony District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection urges you to treat our land and water resources with respect, not to harm or litter them, and to know and observe the established rules.

Visitors to recreation areas and water bodies during the summer period should be aware that in accordance with Articles 53 and 54 of the Water Code of the Republic of Belarus of April 30, 2014, No. 149-Z, prohibitions and restrictions apply within the boundaries of water protection zones and coastal strips, and the following are not permitted:

— washing of vehicles and other technical equipment outside designated areas;

— parking of motor vehicles, except in specially designated and established parking areas, and in their absence – at a distance of at least thirty meters horizontally from the water's edge;

— maintenance of vehicles and other technical equipment;

— disposal and storage of waste, except in authorized temporary waste storage sites;

— felling of trees, removal of vegetation.

In case of non-compliance with the requirements of the legislation, administrative liability is provided for under Article 16.34, Part 2 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses of January 6, 2021, No. 91-Z, with a fine for an individual up to ten base units, for an individual entrepreneur up to twenty-five base units, and for a legal entity up to fifty base units.

It should be noted that for all categories of water bodies in the region, the boundaries of water protection zones and coastal strips have been established, and the regime of economic activity has been determined in accordance with the requirements of the Water Code of the Republic of Belarus of April 30, 2014, No. 149-Z. Decisions of district and regional executive committees on the approval of projects for water protection zones and coastal strips have been adopted. All projects have undergone expert review at the NCPR. In total, 42 beach zones were approved in the region in 2025.
