Requirements for grass mowing have changed

Updated landscaping regulations have come into effect in Belarus, affecting every landowner. Now, responsibility for cleanliness and order extends not only to the territory within the fence but also to adjacent areas.

What specifically has changed? Owners are obliged to regularly mow grass. For most plots, this means mowing from the boundary to the sidewalk (or roadway) and 10 meters inward from other sides, but not more than half the distance to the neighboring plot. For garages and parking lots, a mowing zone of 5 meters around the perimeter has been established.

Fines are imposed for violating landscaping regulations: up to 1050 rubles for individuals, up to 2100 rubles for individual entrepreneurs, and up to 4200 rubles for legal entities.

In addition, a separate fine of up to 840 rubles is provided for uncut grass or the presence of invasive plants on the plot, which are actively combated by both utility services and environmental organizations.
