Canada goldenrod, Sosnowsky's hogweed

Invasive plant species are currently dangerous not only to human health but also harm natural ecosystems, reduce the productivity of agricultural lands, decrease the yield of berries and mushrooms in ecosystems as a whole, and lead to the extinction and disappearance of rare species, many of which are our national heritage.

Therefore, the fight against invasive species is recognized worldwide as one of the most important tasks in the field of biodiversity conservation.

In the Republic of Belarus, the fight against Sosnowsky's hogweed is a matter of state importance. Our country has over 300 species of invasive plants, but Sosnowsky's hogweed and Canadian goldenrod are recognized as the most dangerous species.
